Government White Paper : Planning for the Future

Today (21/09/2020) we will be delivering online planning training to delegates from across Derbyshire. This will be our first planning training event since the Government issued its White Paper : ‘Planning for the Future’ which sets out some significant proposed legislative changes to the planning system.
We would encourage all of our council clients and those that have attended our previous planning training events to familiarise themselves with the White Paper. The document is subject to consultation and presents an opportunity for the Town and Parish sector to tell the government what it thinks about the role of Parish and Town Councils in the Planning system going forward, in particular, how Neighbourhood Plans should fit into the Planning system.

New Life in the Angle Team

In March this year our lead consultant Matthew welcomed to the world his new daughter Elodi. As well as balancing being a parent to a new child he has been busy with various client projects including internal audits, an option appraisal for a new village hall, various parish council training sessions and grant support for a number of sports clubs.

If you feel you would benefit from any of our services don’t hesitate to get in touch for a free no obligation discussion as to your requirements.

Parishes gaining greater powers in UK Planning System

There are a number of examples currently where Parish Councils have been granted powers to determine certain local planning applications that previously would have been dealt with by the District Council. These arrangements are being trialled but do demonstrate that Parish Councils are becoming far more influential in  local planning decisions.  This coupled with a continued rise in the numbers of parishes delivering Neighbourhood Plans can only help Parish Councils to take greater control over the future growth and development of their communities.

Here at Angle we regularly deliver Planning Training to Parish and Town Councils. We also offer support to Neighbourhood Plan groups. If you are interested in any of these services don’t hesitate to get in touch for a free no obligation quote.

Netball Growing in Popularity

Netball has become ever more popular in recent times. Buoyed  by the success of the National Team winning gold in the last seconds of the Commonwealth Games final, netball has never been more popular. More and more clubs and leagues are popping up across the country.

If you are involved in a club or a league and would welcome advice and support around development of your club or league or would like to source funding for equipment, feel free to get in touch with us for a no obligation discussion.

Our consultants recently enjoyed a trip to Birmingham Arena to watch the country’s top 10 netball teams play in their first fixtures of the 2019 season. Pictured is the daughter of our lead consultant taking in the action.
